This is the second in our Flax Workshop Series.

Our Flax Workshop series invites you to come along with us on our journey through the stages of the Flax plant. Learn and take part in the process as we transform this useful plant into fiber using traditional methods. You will learn all about this fantastic plant that people have used for thousands of years!

During this workshop we will demo the techniques and tools used to process the raw flax plant into fiber. You will have the chance to get hands on and take part in the flax processing yourself using traditional tools and methods.

This workshop will be held at Island Community Farm where Hawk and Handsaw Farm is located on Elizabeth Ln. in Middletown, RI.

All are Welcome to this event, but we are taking precautions against spread of the Delta Covid Variant.

-This event will be held outside.

-You will be asked to provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative test (within two days of the event). if you can send a picture/scan of your card before the event that would be extremely helpful in our process.

-If you have NOT been vaccinated Please inform us. You will be asked to provide a negative test within 2 days of the event. We are requiring that you wear a mask for your safety as well as the safety of others in our community. If you inform us we can also be prepared to wear a mask around you to limit potential exposure. We know that some members of our community cannot get the vaccine for various health reasons and we do not want to limit your access to educational opportunities. Since the event will be held outdoors we feel we can work together to make sure we enjoy the event but also keep our distance and be safe.

We are taking these precautions VERY serious.
