The first in our Flax workshop series.

Our Flax Workshop series invites you to come along with us on our journey through the stages of the Flax plant. Learn and take part in the journey as we transform this useful plant into Linen fiber and learn all about this fantastic plant that we have used for thousands of years on this planet.

This first workshop “Winnowing”. You will get to take part in the process of removing flax seeds from the plant and get to take home some flax seed yourself to eat or to plant in your own garden!

This workshop will be held at Island Community Farm where Hawk and Handsaw Farm is located on Elizabeth Ln. in Middletown, RI.

All are Welcome to this event!

During this workshop:

You will learn about winnowing seed.

We will discuss the process of turning flax into fiber.

You will get to take home flax seed of your own!

You will be invited back for the next class in our Flax Workshop Series!
